Project GlowBrain is inviting you after successful project conclusion to promotion of a book "GlowBrain - Unlocking the Potential of Brain Research" which emerged as one of the results of the project.

The promotion will be on 26.10.2016. at 14:00 in "Čačković" hall of School of Medicine University of Zagreb.

The project GlowBrain lasted 3 and the half year and 7 international partners participated in it, along with numerous associates and employees of School of Medicine University of Zagreb.

New equipment was purchased with funds of European Union such, such as a magnetic resonance imaging device for small animals and bioluminescence imaging device. A new Laboratory for Renegerative Croatian Neuroscience of Croatian Institute for Brain Research, the so-called "GlowLab", was renovated with School of Medicine University of Zagreb own resources and is intended for preclinical studies of brain diseases, especially stroke.

With the launch of the book project coordinator prof. Srećko Gajović and GlowBrain team will present the final results of the project and to celebrate a report accepted by the European Commission. We hereby invite you to join us in the celebration and get your copy GlowBrain book.

Pozivnica na predstavljanje GB knjige

Within the EU FP7 GlowBrain project a Regional Meeting on Optical Imaging will be held on November 5 2015 at University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Department for Histology and Embriology. Within the frame of GlowBrain project IVIS Spectrum was acquired and the idea of the meeting is bringing together users of IVIS or similar devices in vicinity in order to excange knowledge and experience in bioluminescence and fluorescence in vivo imaging.

Within the EU FP7 GlowBrain project, 7. Work package - Ex-post Evaluation of UniZAG research potential, it is envisaged the engagement of Evaluators by the European Commission. Evaluators will visit Zagreb twice, the first time in order to gain insight into the activities that were going on in the project, and the second time to present their report.

Lada Brkić Ahmed, our employee, and Dunja Gorup, our collaborator presented the GlowBrain Project with posters, fun games, brochures and attractive brain models.

MRI riggingWe are very proud to say that our magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system arrived safely on the premises of School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, on 15th July 2015. This is one of the key achievements of GlowBrain, whose aim is to establish a new imaging platform for advancing preclinical neurological research in Croatia. Our new MRI is manufactured by Bruker BioSpin GmbH and goes by the name of BioSpec 70/20 USR. Weighing in at 3 tons and delivering a magnetic field of 7 tesla, it is the first one of its kind in the region.

Night when brains are glowingProject GlowBrain invites all interested parties to grand opening of the device for magnetic resonance imaging of small animals purchased by assets of this European project and the public presentation of the project called "The night when brains are glowing".

WHEN: September 14, 2015 at 19:00
WHERE: Šalata 11, University of Zagreb School of Medicine.

Project GlowBrain has been granted an extension of the project research period until 31 December 2015. These extra three months will allow us to continue our current research and exchange of know-how with our partners and collaborators.
