On Friday, September 20th, 2013 Lauba House in Zagreb was the host to a research team from University of Zagreb School of Medicine led by prof. Srećko Gajović with a mission to extend the message of hope in fighting brain diseases - a message that has provided Croatia and UZSM with this prestigious European project in the field of neuroscience.
With a support of the President of the European Brain Council Mary Baker, executive secretary of the Croatian Brain Council Dinko Mitrečić, director of the Croatian Institute for Brain Research Ivica Kostović, dean of the School of Medicine Davor Miličić and vice president of the parliament Reiner a documentary film about the project GlowBrain was presented announcing one of the basic goals of the project - raising public awareness.
During the Night a new sister project SaveBrain was introduced with the goal of raising funds for scientific research in direct cooperation with the public, internationally known as crowdfunding.
More than 500 guests, including a number of local officials and celebrities gathered to support GlowBrain and send out a message of peace, mutual kindness, aspiration to help everyone, especially those who follow through a group photography of smiling visitors. Project GlowBrain has just made it's first step on a long path, and the best witness on it's overall work will be another Night when the brains are glowing, one that will mark the end of the project in 2015.
